Experience the Door2 Carer Retreat
Our inaugural weekend was held in a rambling art filled home. An all inclusive experience, fully catered with beautiful food, wine, yoga, hot springs, guided meditation, watercolour classes, making tiny houses, reading and relaxing. Our Carers had the chance to stop, breathe, retreat, relax and connect with each other in a space where nothing was required of them.
In 2025 year we are back in Daylesford and looking forward to giving our Carers the most wonderful opportunity to retreat from the daily grind and to gather and restore whatever they need.
“These past few days are impossible to sum up but I will give it a go: sublime, freedom, floating, blessings, watching spirits soar.
It was magical to see those whose burden is so heavy, release that for a moment. It was a reset, a reintroduction to me. And now it is time to leave, not weeping, not sad, but reborn and ready for what comes next.”

"It has been wonderful to meet the amazing Door2 community in person. People here exude light even through the most difficult times. I have loved listening to all the beautiful sounds of chatter, the laughter, the quiet concentration as we focused on creative tasks. All these beautiful experiences that connect us and show us that we are not alone on this journey. I will treasure this weekend and hold on to this feeling as I go home."

"This weekend has been a chance to be side-by-side with people who are caring, not just for their insiders, but for each other, their communities, humanity. It has been such a privilege to be part of this very special gathering. Sorrow, fear, love and hope."

"It’s been such a gift to meet the incredible humans behind the screens at Door2. So grateful to everyone for their generosity in sharing their stories and listening to mine. The hugs were the absolute best. I will hold onto these."

"The Door2 retreat has been another example of the way things should be done. Not only because it has been an amazing weekend of beauty and relaxation, but because of the way it came about; as a result of listening to the Door2 community, and responding to this need expressed by the Carers. I have loved every minute and gained more knowledge, confidence and the feeling that I am truly no longer along in this fight against this terrible illness."
